INDENYLZIRCONIUM(IV) TRICHLORIDE 97 - Introduction
Indenylzirconium(IV)trichloride is an organometallic compound having the formula (C9H7)ZrCl3. The following is an introduction to its nature, use, formulation and safety information:
Nature:
Indenylzirconium(IV)trichloride is a yellow crystalline powder soluble in chlorinated solvents such as carbon tetrachloride and methylene chloride. It is stable at high temperatures, but will decompose when exposed to water.
Use:
Indenylzirconium(IV)trichloride are mainly used for catalytic reactions in organic synthesis. It can be used as a precursor of Ziegler-Natta catalyst for catalytic polymerization and copolymerization. In addition, it can also be used in the synthesis of indenyl metal organic compounds and as an asymmetric catalyst in organic chemistry.
Preparation Method:
Indenylzirconium(IV)trichloride can be obtained by reacting indenyl lithium with zirconium chloride. The indenyl lithium and zirconium chloride are reacted to form an indenyl zirconium alcohol compound, which is then subjected to a chlorination reaction to obtain the Indenylzirconium(IV)trichloride.
Safety Information:
Indenylzirconium(IV)trichloride irritant to the skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves and goggles when handling. Avoid inhalation, ingestion and prolonged contact with skin. In the operation to maintain good ventilation conditions. Do not inhale dust or contact its solution for a long time during use. During storage and handling, avoid contact with water and moisture to avoid toxic reactions or explosions.
